Las Vegas Places to Visit… “Downtown Summerlin”

Most visitors to Vegas have heard of the sister city Henderson, but most are not aware of the La Jolla, Beverly Hills, Manhattan area of Las Vegas called Summerlin. This small ritzy township of Las Vegas really does not have a downtown.

So what is Downtown Summerlin? It is an open-air outdoor mall concept that covers roughly 2-3 square blocks. Anchor stores include Dillards and Macy’s with a wide variety of chain to sole proprietor shops. The Center is well maintained with wide sidewalks beautifully landscaped. Narrow streets with parallel parking on both sides of the street. There are several parking garages and lots on the exterior of the center allowing free-flowing car access to the interior streets and shops.

On the North end of the center, a bevy of medium to high-end restaurants provide various food selections in a comfortable setting which includes a beautifully landscaped courtyard with a river like water feature running through the center. At the downtown center, there are a variety of small eateries with both in and outdoor sitting areas to enjoy the scenery and activities in the various courtyards and footpaths.

During this Christmas & New Years season, there are various activities and events happening at the center check their website.  https://www.downtownsummerlin.com/
